Ervand Abrahamian <\/b>is a historian of Middle Eastern and particularly\u00a0Iranian history.<\/p>\n
Born in Tehran to\u00a0Persian-Armenian\u00a0parents and raised in\u00a0England, he received his M.A. at\u00a0Oxford University\u00a0and his Ph.D. at\u00a0Columbia University. He teaches at the\u00a0City University of New York\u00a0(CUNY) where he is Distinguished Professor of History at\u00a0Baruch College\u00a0and the\u00a0CUNY Graduate Center. He has taught at\u00a0Princeton University,\u00a0New York University\u00a0and Oxford University. Abrahamian was elected a Fellow of the\u00a0American Academy of Arts and Sciences\u00a0in 2010.<\/p>\n
