On behalf of UNISON’s 1.3 million members, working in public services in the UK, we send our solidarity and support to the Union of Metalworkers and Mechanics in Iran (UMMI) and the thousands of oil and gas workers currently on strike across Iran to demand their right to fair pay, social protection, safe working and decent living conditions and an end to the labour broker system, as part of the Strike Campaign 1400.

We stand with you as you defend your rights with extraordinary courage, despite the government of Iran’s continued repression of independent trade unions and denial of fundamental workers’ rights including the right to take strike action.
