According to the Telegram channel of “The Independent Voice of the Workers at the National Steel Group”, this morning, Monday February 12, 2024, a group of workers of Iran National Steel Industrial Group (INSIG) staged a protest by halting the production lines of some sections of the mill and gathering in front of the building of the Department of Social Affairs of the Ministry of Labour.
This protest follows the deadline the workers had given a few days ago to the management of the company to rectify the issues with some items related to the implementation of the job classification plan, as well as to address the demand of the workers for equalizing their wages to the wages of neighboring steel companies.
On Saturday, February 10, in a warning strike, workers in various other sectors of the mill had stopped production for hours.
